Overview
Wedding Translator is designed with privacy as a core principle. Audio processing happens locally on your Mac - your wedding audio is never sent to external servers for transcription.
What We Collect
- Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Email address: Provided during checkout for order confirmation and support.
- Basic analytics: Standard web analytics (page views, referral source) on our website only.
What We Don't Collect
- Audio recordings: All speech recognition happens locally on your Mac using OpenAI Whisper. No audio leaves your device.
- Transcription content: Your vows, speeches, and translations stay on your computer.
- Guest data: Guests accessing translations via the web link are not tracked.
Translation Service
Text translations use Google Translate. The transcribed text (not audio) is sent to Google's translation API to produce translations. This is the only data that leaves your device during use. No personally identifiable information is included with translation requests.
Data Storage
All transcription and translation data is stored temporarily in your computer's memory during use and is not persisted to disk unless you explicitly export it. When you close the app, the data is gone.
